Matthias Gruendler

I am an identity navigator, active listener, strategic thinker, artist, facilitator and business coach.  I’m particularly interested in encouraging resilience and minimising the pain of disruptive change which is why I am committed to a conscious and dynamic focus on the management of identity as a leadership practice.  Like an acupuncturist, I look for the root causes that block progress while uncovering the key drivers that enhance clarity, creativity, alignment, well-being, and confidence. My style is structured, grounded and reflective.

I have specialist expertise in customer relationship management, brand strategy and innovation with companies such as Siemens, Philip Morris and Mercedes Benz.
As Team Leader, Partner and Board Member in the global communications industry (Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, JWT) I was involved in running change initiatives at executive management levels.  My background in the communications industry combined with skills as an artist allow me to re-frame challenges into frameworks and metaphors that can be easily understood.   As an adjunct faculty member of the Telefonica Group’s corporate university I designed and delivered transformational programmes to help disrupt ‘business as usual’ and unleash fresh sources of energy for front and back office executives across multiple countries.

I’m an accredited business and Action coach certified across multiple diagnostics and methodologies such as Team Coaching International (TCI), Culture Transformation Tools (CTT), Self-Managing Leadership (SML), Organisational Relationship Systems (ORSC), Team Management Systems(TMS), and the Leadership Circle. I’m a Chair of the board of The Study Society, a London based charity that integrates multidisciplinary approaches across art and science to enhance inner peace and well-being.  I hold a Master of Fine Arts from Werkschule Cologne, Germany.   If you’d like to have a look at my paintings they can be viewed here: www.mgruendler.art
